Cheyenne Veterans DOGE Protest — Your Wyoming Link

Protesters gathered at the Wyoming Capitol on Friday afternoon, braving the cold wind to voice their opposition to federal DOGE cuts, which they say will have a negative impact on veterans.

About 40 demonstrators held upside-down American, Ukrainian, and Canadian flags as they rallied against the cuts. Many say they are concerned about reductions to veterans' benefits, including VA support, SNAP benefits, and federal employment opportunities.

"Just like all today's demonstration is simply for our veterans. Our veterans are in a very dark state in our country. They're standing to cut our VA support. They want to take away SNAP and leave. All of our veterans rely on these. They're cutting them," said protester Austin Hollingsworth.

"Because I served the people when I was on active duty, not a king. And the way this administration is treating our veterans is deplorable. There's hundreds of veterans employed in this state by the federal government. DOJ's coming in and cutting their jobs. He's putting veterans out of work in an economy that's going in the wrong direction," added veteran Jake Laird.

This marks the fourth protest since early February organized in response to the Trump administration and Elon Musk’s DOGE federal cuts in Wyoming. Demonstrators say they will continue to push back against the changes and advocate for veterans’ support.
