A Misunderstanding Leads To Nasty Beef Between Scott Jennings And Panelist

HuffPost1d

"If you wanna engage in personal insults..." ex-MSNBC host Tiffany Cross reprimanded CNN's resident Republican.

Resident CNN conservative Scott Jennings and former MSNBC host Tiffany Cross insulted each other on “NewsNight” Wednesday but it wasn’t a political issue that ignited the exchange.

It appeared to be a misunderstanding. (Watch the video below.)

Another panelist commented that President Donald Trump’s tariffs had offended allies whom the U.S. might need in the future, just as the president did while threatening to take over Greenland.

Cross chimed in on the administration’s “colonizer’s attitude,” which got pushback from Jennings.

“You cannot just go and say, ‘I like it, it’s mine now.’ It doesn’t work that way,” Cross said. “That is what they’re trying to do. And in this new world order...”

“What?” Jennings asked in disbelief.

“Absolutely,” Cross answered. “When they’re looking at Greenland and say, ‘I like it, I want to take it for mine,’ that is a very colonizer attitude.”

Jennings took umbrage: “I have never, ever said we’re going to go to Greenland and, quote, ‘colonize it or steal it.’ That’s crazy.”

“I’m not even talking about you,” she snapped back. “You’re not a member of government. So you’re irrelevant on that point. I’m talking about the president of the United States.

“You got fired from your job,” Jennings sniped. “How relevant are you?”

MSNBC controversially canceled Cross’ show in 2022.

“Scott, if you wanna engage in personal insults...”

“I don’t but you do.”

“What you lack in the legitimate point, you make up for it in personal insults,” Cross continued.

“I don’t. You do,” Jennings said.

The Abby Phillip-hosted “NewsNight” thrives on conflict that is often generated by GOP wonk Jennings, but the playground taunting elevated this beef to a more personal level.

Jennings and Cross, now a podcast host, weren’t done by the way. Here’s the video:

Cross: It’s colonizers attitude to say, I like it, I'm just going to steal it.

Jennings: Steal what?

Cross: Land. When they're looking at Greenland and say, I like it, I want to take it for mine.
