The nonaddictive painkiller suzetrigine (Journavx) is as effective for acute pain as a common opioid treatment For the first time in 25 years, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved a new type of painkiller. Suzetrigine, sold as Journavx, is administered twice daily in 50-milligram oral tablets to treat moderate and severe acute pain.
